After you eat, food travels from your mouth to your stomach. Your stomach has a special lining called the mucosa, like a protective sticker that protects your toy from getting scratched.

But sometimes, certain medicines or germs can damage that sticker.

When that happens, the stomach gets irritated, and that is called gastritis. It can give you a stomachache, make you feel sick, or even make you throw up.
