Your brain is made of many tiny cells. These cells send electrical signals to each other, like Christmas lights turning on and off.

But sometimes, some of the brain cells do not connect the right way. This causes mixed-up signals, like a short circuit in the lights.

That is called epilepsy.

When it happens, the body might start to shake or move uncontrollably. This is called a seizure.
